Everyone dreams of having a place that they can come to after a long tedious day. Home is one such place, where you can de-stress yourself and spend quality time with your loved ones. In fact, for me, my home surroundings often have a direct impact on my mood. Let me share some simple but easy on your pocket tips that will help you achieve a serene home you crave for in those never ending hours outside home.
Greens

Take care of the plants! No, I am not joking. It is proved that if you have real plants in your house, it channelizes the energy in your home. Do try to observe if you are happy, the plants bloom and when you are not doing well it tends to wither. Plants bring color to your home and even your life. The plants you choose don’t necessarily be rare, something simple to care for is all that you need to consider.
Color
What is your favorite color? Did you know that colors hold different meanings? Close your eyes and think of different emotions and you will easily associate them with certain colors. Let your home reflect your mood. Paint your home in a color that soothes you. What can be more fun than inviting your friends to paint your walls? By the end of it you are surely going to end up with a masterpiece and memories that will stay for a long time.
Clutter-free
I personally feel more the space available around me, I feel much easier to breathe and move. It is said your home reflects your personality. If your home is clutter-free and allows easy movement, it shows that you enjoy freedom. Similarly, if your house is organized, it means you are a systematic and organized person. So, instead of hoarding all your stuff, why not start cleaning your apartment.
Let’s face it, we all have the habit of buying things that we might not even need or use for couple of years and still is occupying the space that could be put to better use. This does not mean you throw away your favorite items and memoirs. Don’t try to save them all; just clear out the things that aren’t required.
Comfort

Having a couch which looks expensive is all good and fine, but does it deliver the comfort it promises? While buying furniture, choose the ones which look comfortable rather than one which screams money. The styles of furniture’s change every year, the one which looks stylish today might not necessarily be in demand the next year. The furniture you purchase will be used for at least a couple of years, think do you really want to sacrifice your comfort for style?
Senses
This might not sound appealing to all of you, but you can still give it a shot. Our serenity and calmness are more often related to our senses (sight, sound and smell). Having a home satisfying all these senses will bring you peace when you are restless. For example, you can bring in your favorite flowers every second day to make your home more refreshing and aromatic. You might not agree with me, but try to bring in the natural smells rather than using those chemical filled fresheners.

In terms of sound, each of us prefers a different kind. I love to hear the sound of the waves or waterfall. Why not experiment with the sounds you like? Many people enjoy wind-chimes, you can try them too. For sight, as I already mentioned above, paint your home in a color which calms you. Besides this, use soft but pleasing lighting.
The above are just some simple changes which you can make without it affecting your routine life or being robbed out of your savings. Why not give it a try and in the process learn new things about yourself? Believe me; it will surely be worth a shot.
