Wouldn’t it be nice if you had a much bigger bedroom? Think of all the wonderful things you could fit in. You’d have much more space to do whatever you wanted. It’s probably hard to do anything at the moment. Do you have to squeeze past your bedside table to get to your bed? That must really get on your nerves.
Why don’t you be creative. By using a few simple tricks you can gain that space you’ve always wanted. Your bedroom will look a lot nicer once you can see the floor. Here are some great ideas you can look over and decide if they work for you. If they can, get to work straight away.
Get the right furniture
This has got to be one of the biggest space stealers out there. Having big things like bookshelves or desks laying in the middle of the floor. Why don’t you get some furniture that actually goes on the wall? Automatic space. Think about it: you can easily pick up a new bookcase that attaches to the wall, and now you can even get fold up desks that fold neatly into the wall once you’re finished with them. No longer will you have to squeeze past them.
Upgrade the television
If you still have a television that sits on a table you’re automatically going to feel like there’s less space. It doesn’t really need to be there; Not now when you have so many better choices. You could pick up a flat screen and have it mounted on your wall. Take it one step further and also have your DVD and music system mounted to the wall, too. You’re probably realizing that attaching things to your wall saves space.
Go for a sofa bed
Now you’re talking some serious space. I suppose this depends on how much you love your current bed, but these days you can get beautiful sofa beds which are very comfortable. Once you wake up in the morning, you can just fold it up and go about your business. This is even more of a great idea if you don’t have a big home to begin with and you’re going to be spending a lot of time in your bedroom. If not, then it’s an extreme measure.
Keep your room clutter free
Although this seems completely obvious, you’d still be surprised by the amount of people who wish they had a bigger room, yet they still left their crap laying around the floor. Not only does it make your room look a tip, but it swallow up precious floor space. Aim to keep your room absolutely clutter free. That doesn’t just mean rubbish. Anything that doesn’t need to be on the floor should be given a new home.
Don’t be color blind
Can you guess what happens when you fill a small room with dark colors? It looks like a cave. You don’t want this. Add some brightness to the room.
By using bright colors it will make the room appear more spacious. Obviously it’s not going to make a drastic improvement, but it, at least, won’t feel like you’re living in the middle of the 1st century. Now you get to be creative and go out shopping for loads of new stuff.
