When it comes to choosing a new bed, it’s time to blow the budget! We spend approximately a third of our lives asleep, so we should make it count! A good night’s sleep is something that we all need. You’ll wake up more positive, full of energy and able to make the most out of life.
You simply can’t put a price on a good night’s sleep, so if the time has come for you to buy a new bed, we would strongly recommend that you put aside a budget that’s as large as you can manage. Avoid cheap furniture like the plague as you will only end up replacing and repairing it no sooner than you have bought it. Here is our guide to shopping for the perfect bed!
What Do You Need & What Can You Spend?
Before you even start shopping, you need to sit down and make a list of things that you need your bed to be. For example, what size do you need? Some people go for a standard double bed, while others push the boat out and opt for a king size, or even queen size. The possibilities are endless, as long as you have the space for it!
Think about what sort of designs you like too and have a look online at all the different options. There are pine beds, divans, faux-leather beds, oak beds and all sorts of other choices too. Next, you need to set a realistic budget – you are going to have to spend a lot to get a quality bed, but it will last you for years and years.
What About the Mattress?
The quality of the mattress is just as important as the quality of the bed frame. A good mattress will help you sleep better, and it’s particularly vital for people that suffer with bad backs and joint pain. Orthopedic mattresses and memory foam mattresses are the best. Shop around and always try lying on a mattress before you buy it. The more money you can spend on the mattress, the better, as you definitely get what you pay for. Don’t buy mattresses second hand – you never know the history of them and you’ll feel much more at ease on a new one.
How About the Linen?
Once you have chosen your new bed and have had it delivered and set up, it’s time to show it off! This means splashing out on some beautiful bed linen which suits the bed and the rest of the room’s décor. Go with pastel shades that are conducive to sleep and relaxation. Get some plump pillows and maybe even blow the budget and buy yourself a new duvet! Make the bed, pop a couple of decorative cushions on top, and then stand back and admire your work (before getting your head down for the best night’s sleep you’ve had in ages!).
A new bed is something to get really excited about – choose one that’s stylish and comfortable enough and you’ll completely revolutionize the quality of your sleep!
