You invested a lot of money into your vehicle, so you want to do everything in your power to keep it safe and looking great. Inclement weather can throw at lot at your car, from massive chunks of hail to ice and snow and even extreme heat. All of these weather conditions can really wreak havoc on your car if it is exposed to them at all times, causing your car to age more quickly than it should and causing its appearance to deteriorate.

Thankfully, though, there are ways to protect your car from every type of inclement weather that your area receives.

Carports

If you do not have a garage, a carport could really be the next best thing. It is an open-sided structure that provides a roof over your car that protects it from the harsh rays of the sun, as well as from damaging hail, rain, and snow.

The other great thing about a carport is that it provides you with several options in terms of its construction. If you want to attach your carport to the side of your house, sort of like a makeshift garage, you can do so, or you can instead opt for a freestanding carport. Either way, all you need to do to protect your car from the elements is park it safely beneath the carport every time you get home.

Car Covers

Car covers are an affordable option that you can use anywhere. They are especially handy if you plan on storing your car for long periods of time, but they can also be used every day to keep your car’s paintjob protected from harsh weather conditions whether the sun is beating down on a very hot summer day or you want to prevent dents and scratches in your car’s exterior that may result from large hail.

Even heavy rain can eventually lead to rust, especially because of the acid rain that falls. And, of course, your car cover will protect your vehicle from bird droppings and tree pollen, which can certainly take their negative toll on your car’s paint. Just be sure to choose an outdoor car cover that is specially designed to withstand all types of weather conditions.

Inflatable Car Covers

Take your average car cover to a whole new level with some of the newest inflatable car covers. These covers wrap around and cover the entire exterior of your vehicle to protect it like any other car cover would. However, in the event that really harsh weather is on its way, you can give your car an extra level of protection by inflating the car cover with the press of a button. It will turn into a large inflatable dome that covers your vehicle and shields it from the elements.

There are a variety of products to choose from that will protect your car from inclement weather. Depending upon your home and how much space you have, you may choose to install a permanent carport, or you might instead wish to use one of the many types of car covers available.
