Much deliberation goes into the type of flooring and internal designs our homes are subject to. Personal preference does play a big part in this deliberation, depending upon the theme of your home. Whether chic, modern or classic; choosing the right type of floor surface is essential to create the perfect ambience and home setting. Different options have certain pros and cons.

Here is some more insight into the three that will make it easier for you to decide which substance you would like to finish your floor with:

Wood / Timber

This is one of the few natural substances that prove to be of multi-purpose use when it comes to furniture and décor. Wood gives off a certain warmth and luxurious feel to any surface area they are used on. Wood, however, does tend to scratch on the surface if one is careless about moving large equipments across the flooring. One good tip to avoid this is to coat the timber with varnish or polish. Wood is one material that portrays character like no other but regular maintenance is required to keep it looking at its best.

Carpets

Carpets are great if you want to add some change without making it out to be too much of a hindrance. Instead of putting living at home on hold during renovation and refurbishing, carpets can just simply be swathed over the floor. Carpets lend an element of design and style as they are available in different patterns and can highlight certain areas of the house. While wood adds elegance, carpets add comfort. Carpets also do great to protect the surface beneath the material from damage and cracks.

Tiles

Versatility is what sells majority of tiles as a flooring option. The thing that attracts most people into buying tiles is the fact that they add style and a sense of glamour, without having to shell out heaps of money to obtain the high society look. Tiles produced nowadays no longer are constricted to boring, dull colors like those of the hay day. Modern tiles are available in a myriad of patterns and color schemes so you have much choice when it comes to finding one specific type that compliments the house.

Still Undecided? Use All Three!

If you simply cannot settle of which material to go for, then be a little innovative and make use of all three! You could use wood in the living area, tiles for the kitchen and carpeting in the dining area and bedroom. Mix it up and let your creative side loose. Stick to basic guidelines but think out of the box when it comes to completing décor and flooring. Remember, even once you have finally decided on which flooring to go with that, there are many varieties under that category.

Take for example carpets; they come as saxony, cut, loop, berger and many more. Each come with their own characteristics and weaving patterns. Do some research and ask professional who supply the same for advice and more specific details into textures and interior design which will ultimately help you find the perfect match to your otherwise blissful home.
